In Minecraft, frogspawn is a new item that was introduced in the Wild Update. It is an item that can not be obtained in Survival mode. You can only create frogspawn through the process of breeding frogs, find it in the Creative Inventory menu, or give yourself one using a game command (see below).

You can create frogspawn in Survival mode by breeding frogs. So, let's get started!

1. Find Two Frogs

First, you need to find two frogs. Frogs can be found in the Swamp and Mangrove Swamp biomes.

2. Use the Slimeballs

Next, with the slimeballs selected in your hot bar, you will need to feed a slimeball to each of the frogs, one at a time.

The game control to use/feed the slimeballs to the frogs depends on the version of Minecraft:

For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the frogs one at a time.
For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the frogs one at a time.
For Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
For PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the frogs one at a time.

As you feed the slimeballs to the frogs, you will see red hearts appear over their heads. Each of these frogs is entering love mode.

Once you have fed both frogs, they will turn to each other and red hearts will continue to appear over their heads.

3. Pregnant Frog will lay Frogspawn

Now, one of the frogs has become pregnant and searches for a water block to lay frogspawn.

TIP: After a few minutes, the frogspawn will hatch into tadpoles (frogspawn can produce between 2 and 6 tadpoles) and then the tadpoles will mature into frogs.
