Steps to Tame an Ocelot

1. Find an Ocelot

Once you have the required materials, you will need to find an ocelot to tame.

If you are having trouble finding an ocelot, you can always summon an ocelot using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.

2. Use the Fish

You can tame an ocelot by giving it a raw fish. So add the raw fish to your inventory and select the raw fish in your hotbar.

Next, while holding the raw fish, do not move. If you move, you will scare away the ocelot. If you are very still, the ocelot will eventually notice the fish in your hand and begin to walk over to you.

When the ocelot has walked up to you, hold out the fish to the ocelot. The game control to use the fish depends on the version of Minecraft:

• For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click and hold.
• For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold.
• For PS3 and PS4, press and hold the L2 button on the PS controller.
• For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press and hold the LT button on the Xbox controller.
• For Windows 10 Edition, right click and hold.
• For Wii U, press and hold the ZL button on the gamepad.
• For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZL button on the controller.
• For Education Edition, right click and hold.

As you use the fish, you should see red hearts appear around the ocelot and the ocelot will turn into a cute cat. The ocelot has been tamed.

Once the taming process is complete, the hearts will disappear and the ocelot will behave like a cat.
