Steps to Breed Foxes

1. Find Two Foxes

First, you will need to find two foxes to breed. There are 2 types of foxes in Minecraft:

You can find the Red Fox in the Taiga, Old Growth Pine Taiga and Old Growth Spruce Taiga biomes. The Snowy Fox can be found in the Snowy Taiga and the Grove biomes.

If you are having trouble finding foxes, you can summon a fox using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.

Your foxes will need to be close together when breeding, so we have built a fence to keep our two foxes from running away.

2. Use the Sweet Berries

Next, with the sweet berries selected in your hot bar, you will need to feed the sweet berries to each of the foxes, one at a time.

The game control to use/feed the sweet berries to the foxes depends on the version of Minecraft:

• For Java Edition (PC/Mac), right click on the fox one at a time.
• For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap on the fox one at a time.
• For Xbox One, press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
• For PS4, press the L2 button on the PS controller.
• For Nintendo Switch, press the ZL button on the controller.
• For Windows 10 Edition, right click on the fox one at a time.
• For Education Edition, right click on the fox one at a time.

As you feed the sweet berries to the foxes, you will see red hearts appear over their heads. Each of these foxes is entering love mode.

Once you have fed both foxes, they will turn to each other and red hearts will continue to appear over their heads.

After a moment, the red hearts will disappear and a cute baby fox will be standing there.

Now you will have two adult foxes and one baby fox.
