Required Materials to make a Note Block
In Minecraft, these are the materials you can use to craft a note block:
TIP: You can use any type of wood planks! You don't have to gather them all.
How to craft a Note Block in Survival Mode
1. Open the Crafting Menu
First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3x3 crafting grid that looks like this:
2. Add Items to make a Note Block
In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3x3 crafting grid. To make a note block, place 8 wood planks and 1 redstone dust in the 3x3 crafting grid.
When crafting with wood planks, you can use any kind of wood planks, such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, bamboo, crimson, warped or cherry planks. In our example, we are using oak planks.
When making a note block, it is important that the wood planks and redstone dust are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 3 wood planks. In the second row, there should be 1 wood planks in the first box, 1 redstone dust in the second box, and 1 wood planks in the third box. In the third row, there should be 3 wood planks. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a note block.
Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the note block will appear in the box to the right.
3. Move the Note Block to Inventory
Once you have crafted a note block, you need to move the new item to your inventory.
Congratulations, you have made a note block in Minecraft!
