Where to Find a Pillager Outpost
In Minecraft, a Pillager Outpost is a structure that spawns naturally in the game near a village (about 300 blocks away from the village). The Outpost is made up of a small group of structures and is guarded by pillagers. Because the Pillager Outpost generates near a village, it can appear in any biome that a village can. For example, you can find Pillager Outposts in biomes such as the Plains, Desert, Savanna, Taiga, and so on.
Here is a picture of what a Pillager Outpost in the Taiga biome looks like:
Watchtower
In the center of the Pillager Outpost is a large structure called a Watchtower. This is the main structure in the Outpost and has a total of 4 levels. On each side of the Watchtower, you will find 2 illager banners hanging from the top level.
Also, on the top level of the Watchtower, you can find a chest filled with goodies.
This chest can contain items such as bottle o'enchanting, crossbow, tripwire hooks, carrots, wheat, potatoes, dark oak logs, arrows, goat horns (Ponder, Sing, Seek, or Feel) and Sentry Armor Trim.
Smaller Structures
The Pillager Outpost can also contain smaller structures surrounding the Watchtower. Commonly, you will find a cage with an Iron Golem trapped inside, like this one:
You may also find a cage with between 1 and 3 Allays trapped inside:
Protectors of the Pillager Outpost
The Pillager Outpost is protected by a new mob called the pillager. Once you enter the Outpost, the pillagers will begin attacking you.
Pillager
The pillager is armed with a crossbow and arrows as a weapon. So be careful around these mobs because they can shoot you from a distance making them tougher to kill.
Pillager Outpost Leader
Once you start batting the various pillagers in the Outpost, a special pillager that is the leader of the Outpost will attack you. This leader is easy to spot because it wears an illager banner on its head.
Be careful about killing this leader because once you kill the Pillager Outpost leader, you will be cursed with a new status effect called Bad Omen.
Bad Omen
The Bad Omen effect is a new status effect that causes a group of hostile mobs to spawn and attack when a player with the Bad Omen effect enters a village. This event is called a Raid.
When the Raid begins, a Raid progress bar will appear on the screen (similar to the Ender Dragon or Wither Boss progress bar). Next, a group consisting of pillagers, ravagers, vindicators, evokers and witches will spawn and rush toward the player with Bad Omen. As the player kills these hostile mobs, the Raid progress bar will decrease indicating how many remaining mobs must be killed to end the Raid.
Pillager Outpost Seeds
You can use a seed to create a world where you spawn near a Pillager Outpost:
